Need help with Sony Memory stick Problem

    Hope someone out there can help. A friend of mine has a sony memory stick with about 50 photos and some video footage. The problem is when she tries to access them on a pc (even a vaio with memory stick slot) a black screen appears instead of the picture even though the pics themselves appear as thumbnails when opening the folder in explorer. She's rather upset at the prospect of losing these pictures and I'm of little help

    Would appreciate some help

    Is it the magic gate one or standard and is it password locked ?

    What happens if you copy and past one photo and try to open it locally

    Also , are the photos in Jpeg format or something else ?

    Its the 128mb magic gate. Did try and open them locally but no joy. And no it ain't password protected.

    if she puts the stick back in the camera can she still view them?

    can you post a link to one of the photos?
    and I'll see what way it opens on a mac, have a good conversion utility that opens most stuff
