not to sure about the company that makes it, or the "8 updates" part

either way it includes "doublescan" technolgy which was created by extendia,
and is being used by microsft in their antivrus , which they will release sometime in the future.

ive used extendia avk for the last year and always recommend it as the best paid antivrus software available.

have a look at the update policy before you buy it,
but if your looking for a new antivirus, this could be your answer

Chalk - I saw the 8 updates mentioned as well. You would probably pay handsomely for annual support (updates).

Think I'll stick with AVG for now.

    its miles better than avg,
and alot better than most others on the market aswell

first of all i would say if ur clever enough u dont need a antivirus on ur pc

well i dont have it on my pc and had no problems

all you need is a firewall

well if ur into porn than antivirus is a must :D:D

ids say its handy to have,
i dont use real time scanning but would check alot of things before i run them,
    just to be safe.
theres up to 5 pcs online at any one time in my house - rented accom,
and id rather there was an av running on them than have to check them every day.

    to add/
the extendia software is 29$ with one years updates for both engines.
if the aldi software is more expensive than that forget it.

I use Avast! home edition and I've found it to be very useful.

I had Norton running before which I subscribed to and it didn't find a virus even after installing all updates, Avast! caught it in a few minutes.

Also, once you register, Avast! is free for personal use
