    Having just finished college with an IT qualification i have decided to look for work in tech support!
    Just wondering if people would please post up the name of the call centre they work/worked in and if you actually learned anything there?
    An address to send a cv to would also be very helpfull.
    I am willing to move anywhere in the country for work but dublin or waterford would be preferred.

    www.sunlife.ie, in Waterford, at the moment it looks like they're only looking for s/w engineers, but I'd send off the CV anyway! (they have a helpdesk aswell)
    learned quite alot there, but the money is pretty crap....

    i worked in IRm out in Blanch for 7 months, and it was really good.
    i had no formal training or knowledge when i started, just a lot of my own experience, but they put me through a 5 week course that pretty much covered the old win95 and win 98 MSC course.
    you get so many problems in a call centre like that, that you get great experience in a wide range of issues from software to hardware, and it allowed me to get into a good desktop support job which alloed me to become a network engineer...

    AOL in waterford is good. SunLife have an appalling HR Dept who never reply to CV's even when they advertise relevant vacancies. AOL will get back to you almost immediately with an interview. They are always after good people.

    Eircom are always looking for staff, and despite what people say about it, its not that bad at all, it is what you make of it... I put in a good effort, get noticed and I've been trained in several different fields now, whilst other people on my team, who've been there longer but just don't bother or just do the minimum still do dial up support.

    Dell are looking for a huge number of people. Actually not a bad place to work. And similar to Azexil's experience with Eircom, if you have cop and work well you will be noticed and have plenty of options.
