    Hi guys,

I've got a 60cm Sky Digital dish which I'm currently using with a quad LNB to serve my digibox and a Skystar 2 card in my PC for internet access. I've decided to move with my internet connection to micronet, which operates on EBird at 33E.

I was wondering if you guys had any advice as to what and where to purchase. I think I need a monoblock with two inputs, as I'll need one for the net on 33E and one for my digibox at 28.2E.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

It may just work, Just wondering though would the 60cm dish be man enough for reception? Also most monoblocks are designed for 6degree spacing between birds. I would say it would be very tight indeed. Connecting a monoblock to the sky dish as well may be a problem (Unless you have a non sky dish)

I would be doubtful inthe extereme that a monoblock would work with a sky dish even if you could get one to fit it

Yeah, considering that there's only a 5 degree difference, you're probably right. What would be the cheapest option for my needs?

Micronet, the ISP I'll be using, have an DIY pack for £ £59.99 which includes the dish, necessary LNB and fittings. Could I make my own setup any cheaper? It sounds quite reasonable to me.

Sounds reasonable enough but maybe compare the price including shipping with local suppliers, try get a good lnb with a low noise figure.

Monobloc are designed for 6 degrees on a 80cm ish dish (astra 19E + Hotbird 13E), for example the SAME monobloc on a 1.2 dish here would give about 3 degrees. On a Sky minidish it might give 7 or 8 degrees.

Also you couldn't mount it as it uses a ( ) type holder on neck rather than having integral plastic spike.

Try an LNB taped as tight as possible to WEST side of Sky LNB. Slightly lower. It will pick up a more eastern Bird.

33E isn't great here though. 19E is much better here.

Unless you are really into fiddling a separate 80 / 90 cm dish with 0.6dB LNB is best. Check www.satellite.ie in dublin as you might save on carriage. www.tarasat.nl is worth a check too.

You might need to borrow a "satfinder" beeper.
