Can anyone recommend a good program for changing the ID tag on mp3 files? Something that is quick and easy to use on a large amount of mp3 files.

    Thanks.

    Hate when people do that.

I just use winamp ... if your doing a batch of mp3's there is probably something quicker.

Sorry, misread your post. Didn't realise Godfather was a program, thought you were being a smart arse and telling me to google for a program to do it.

Google for tag&rename and download it. This is the best program for organising mp3s thats available. It syncs with amazon database to get correct track listing and image for album and it has some handy functions for doing it manually which saves alot of time.

    Mark

GOdfather does the same but utilises freeDB the largest archive of them, or it can be made to use any DB you like to tag files. Also has more advanced features than T&R but T&R is a good prog also if your new to tagging. Will thursday be ok at 5 booked out friday, have to install google on some fellas computer, god the hastle of typing w w w . g o o g l e . c o m !!! ;)

    Mp3Tag is great.

    http://www.mp3tag.de/en/

It searches freedb too and is really easy and quick to use.

And thanks to you I just realised that it has a case conversion button to put a captial letter at the start of each word. And it will replace underscores with space, stuff like that.

    It's free too.

I've also got moodlogic which I use for my non album tracks. The program is really for making playlists that sound like the song you select but to do that it makes a song 'signature' and downloads information of the moodlogic server. It can use this to correctly name unnamed/incorrectly named MP3s. It has no album support though.

i have my music sorted into full albums, songs, unsorted, compilations. I just throw all individual into songs into songs and moodlogic correctly names tham and puts them into a folder of the artist name.

It hasn't been updated in a few years though so it only works for ongs a few years old (prob most of what you have though). Don't buy it onless you're ok with that.

    MP3 tag is great.
