What will happen to my NTL email address after the switchover - it's going to cause me major grief with all the sites I have signed up for including my banking.

    Any ideas?

Good question. They might let you keep them. They are ntlworld.com aren't they? That domain will still exist.

Switch your mail address to somethign neutral like gmail. It's actually not as hard as it looks to migrate all your business over. I've done it four or five times now. Just do it gradually.

ntlworld will probably continue to allow you to access your inbox even after the switchover goes through.

Most likely they will not let you use their SMTP servers though.

Signup for some web based email account with pop/smtp and use their smtp server, like I do :D

That shouldn't stop you sending mails out from that address though :)

Do nothing. If you are really worried get another account (g-mail etc.) and start migrating to it.

    What exactly do you mean?
Your switching over from NTL to Eircom?
Simply change the outgoing mail server to Eircom's and it should be fine.

Gwan gimme more details bout what you mean.

I switched from NTL to Smart a few months ago and was worried about the email addresses I had with them so I moved all them over to a gmail a/c. I needn't have worried the @ntlworld.ie addresses are still active.

    Exactly.

Will my new email be XXXXX@upc.com and will they redirect all the NTL emails for set period?

odds are ntlworld.ie will be owned by UPC not ntl, so won't be effected at all...
so unless your under some other ntl domain?

No ... NTL Ireland will remain the brand name.
Your email will still be @ntlworld.ie
