    Hello All

My good buddie is going to Peru in Sept and he needs some helpful souls to provide him with the following info,

Cheap flights : who ? and where
Cheap and nice places to stay
    places to visit

Anyone know of good packaged tours and websites besides the obvious ones that are found in google.

has anyone been on the inca trail ? how much is it and how far in advance must it be booked. ..was it worth the money
and any other advice is most welcome.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me

I booked the Inca Trail with these guys http://www.wasai.com/inca-trail-standard.htm and it was an amazing experience. The guide and porters were unreal. You will have an amazing time but be warned its tough. We were 6 fit guys going up and completely shattered at the end.

We just stayed in Cuzco and then headed for Bolivia.

hey going to south america myself in october, should be in peru novemberish.

Would you recommend that company mathie? I had heard you had to book in advance.

Also would you recommend anywhere to see? I've been working my way through as many travel guides as possible trying to get a route sorted, but its always nice to hear from people who were there.

Cannae wait, finished exams today, got all that crap out of the way now (apart from thesis :( ),

    now for life....

We booked in advance but there are literally hundreds of companies in Cuzco throwing the Inca trail at people. I'd still book in advance though just in case.

And be sure to spend about three days in Cuzco to adjust to the thin air. You really need to acclimatise. I had to sit down after a minute walking around Cuzco. Its hard to explain and quite bizarre.

We went horse riding (somewhere just outside the city - I'm sure most tourist guides will help you out) and it was class too. Theres plenty to see and do.

aye, the altitude is unbelievable. Was in Tibet and Everest Base Camp last year, and it just kills ya, 10 minutes walk and you need a break, and any increment just destroys you.
