Can anyone recommend a good northside cable guy for a small job ?

I'm getting an extension on my house and need my sky and aerial cables split and extended from one point of entry into the house into another.

Probably a 20min job but I dont want to be ripped off for it.

    Based in Swords.

    Thanks in advance.

See the second output on your sky box? Cable goes from there, to the new point. Or get a local electrician in. When we got it done the first time (ddn't know what was involved), a local electrican did it.

cool - didnt know that. But I dont necessarily want to leave the sky box where it is - I want to have the option of having it in either new or old location so I guess the cable needs to be split somewhere between the dish and the current box location ?

Anyone any contacts out there in my area ?

You cannot split a satellite cable this way, to do this you need a quad lnb from your dish and then run two cables , one to each location. I would use a satellite/aerial specialist, a lot of jobs I'm called to are as a result of an electrician being involved. Dont get me wrong 99% of electricians are excellent its the ones who stray into non electrical areas that cause the problem. Dont know anyone in your area but maybe Golden pages? You might also consider DIY as its not that difficult and you will save some money. Check out the satellite forum on boards maybe someone there can recommend a local guy.

Be careful with splitting the cable. If its done too much, or with the wrong box, the "magic eye" amy not work. Check out maplins, tbh.

    Good luck with it anyhoo's.
