what exactly is the law concerning the download/possession of rom images?
as i understand it, it is legal to possess a rom for 24 hours then it must be deleted. so downloading roms need not contravene any copyrights. why then is it illegal to publish links to download sites???

The whole 24 hour thing is a load of horse twaddle as far as im concerned. Nintendo and the likes do not like people downloading their COPYRIGHTED games no matter for how short of time. There are plenty of sites out there that allow posting to rom sites this is not one of them due to the whole legal minefield. Last thing I want is this site which kindly hosts this forum into any form of hassle.

At the end of the day most of the stuff is still covered under copyright even if it is no longer being sold , produced etc until the laws change in regards to this matter im afraid I wont allow posting to sites that contain roms.
