What exactly is wrong with me?

When I was 21 I was brilliant at pulling women, the key is to appear confident. I think I must've really been confident back then because nowadays I am rubbish at it.
I get so fecking paranoid about everything. I can't complete thought processes because I keep on moving to the next problem in the loop. If I try to stick, I feel like there's a concrete block sitting on my head, pushing me down into the ground. Today I was driving along in the car and all of a sudden tears started rolling down my face. I came to a red light and a couple of (attractive) girls started laughing at me. They were sitting in a car opposite. The problem is I can't pinpoint what's wrong. It feels hopeless, wasted talent.
Can anybody name this condition for me?

I've split this off the other thread.

It sounds like you need someone to talk to. A doctor or counsellor might suit.

Sounds a lot like depression. Not a fun thing to go through. Talk to your close friends about your feelings and if that doesn't help I'd suggest having a word with your doctor to see how he thinks you should proceed. Sorry I don't have any better advice.

Its times like those that call for ramming them off a quiet country road and breaking out the razor wire; Attractive or not.
As for your problem, its probably nothing a few trips to a counsellor won't sort.

If you've sat down and thought about why you're feeling this way and can't pinpoint the reason, I'd suggest firstly talking to one or two trusted friends. It could be a lot of things, perhaps you're stressed, or you went through a difficult break-up in the past.

If you've tried this or feel as if it doesn't apply to you, going to see a counsellor may be a good idea. This doesn't mean you're mental, psychotherapy is all about helping people to solve normal problems where the solutions might not appear obvious.

I'd recommend psychodynamic psychotherapy - basically, you sit face with a psychologist and you both work together to locate and zap one or some issues buried in your unconscious.

But talk to some trusted friends first. You're definitely not alone.

If it is depression (which we are unsure of, we're not experts here)...

My Dad has a serious depression problem when he was about your age (early, mid 20's I presume). He went to see someone and ended up on the happy pills, which he still takes to this day (he is 64 now).

He lives a very full life, and his depression is under control. He can go through low periods even now, but nothing like he was when he didn't know what was wrong.

I inherited some of his depressive genes, but managed to solve my problem by intensive meditation courses, and I continue with daily meditation - it has changed my life (although, obviously it ain't for everyone).

Listen to me. Talk to your doctor, ask him to refer you to a psychiatrist.

PM me if you need encouragement in this.

    *raises an eyebrow*

(Insert rant about idiots and their stupid opinions on mental problems in this country here)

Yeah well I've never been good at pulling women and I find the more I think about it the worse I get. I know you have to appear cocky and funny when chatting up women, but what exactly do you talk about? Btw, I'm not one for smalltalk cos it gets you nowhere. Now when I go go out I've upgraded to the stage where I ask a chick to dance and then I go in for the kill but I know I can't do this for ever. OP, at least you've had experience.

ther has obviously ben something that has knocked your confidence since u were 21... a girl u really liked rejected u??? a loss of emotional support ??maybe a family member or close friend going away?? finding the root of this problem is your goal and your doctor can help most definatly.. i wouldn't say its a psyhciatric issue maybe just a lack of direcion or understanding within yourself and your emotions..the doctor might suggest counselling ...hopefully..best of luck m8
