Browser Question and Activity monitor

Just a quick question to see What Browser Mac users are using (i.e. Opera, Safari, Firefox, IE Or other), just wondering because I had a quick look at the activity monitor and seen that Safari was using 120 MB of Ram with only a few Tabs open, some of the Tabs I had open were Flash Game but when i closed them the RAM wasn't released. is there any decent software freely available that can release some of this RAM. 120mb Seems lot for a browser, on my pc Opera hardly Passes 60MB with a lot of Tabs open.

Second “I’m a total OS X noob” Question,

How do I get a program Like Activity monitor to start when the machine is booted up?

[EDIT] figured out how to do the second part [EDIT]

Opera, despite being a (minor) Firefox dev. Mac Firefox just plain sucks, honestly; Safair doesn't support some sites I need, IE sucks...

i use safari. reluctantly i might add. it has all my bookmarks and settings and i'm far to lazy to move them all over to another browser. safari's java support is rubbish and i have alot of problems with some sites.

Firefox isn't much better. A bit snappier i find but still very poor compared to the windows version. a bit more compatable i often find tho.

i've also experienced alot of memory leaks with safari. more so with older versions mind you. To be fair however i'm running it on an ibook which i rarely shutdown/restart, i just put it to sleep. so safari is left running for long periods. i usually have to quit/restart the browser once a day or it slows to crawl. it usually crashes by itself.

the new version of safari included with tiger is an improvement but apple really have alot of catchup to do with pc browsing.

I really like Safari, it seems to run fine for me, only think i have a problem with is the amount of mem it uses, as for IE if its any thing like its PC counterpart them ill be stearing well clear.

He asked what browser people used on OSX, I answered with my very first word - Opera.
