the one i ordered from chrisguitars,
    Well it came today . . . .
But i only had cash for the customs and they only accept cheques.
So now i have to wait about 6 hours.
i know its not long but work is just going to drag on and on and on.

jesus.......that's a new one. Only accept cheques? You know who you're dealing with when cash becomes unacceptable ;) this must be bureaucracy in its worst manifestation.

Anyways, have a great weekend with your new baby!

What happens if you don't own a chequebook? Do you get it tax free?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

What would happen if the check bounced? Would they come back to your house and steal your guitar back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

What about gold bullion? Would they accept that?

I tried to send them to freakonaleashx but when they took more than thirty-six hours to attach I kind of gave up.

Looks good. You're younger than I expected. How's that LTD Ex treating you?

Chris valued my $500 Carvin at $100 for customs :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,326 ✭✭✭Zapp Brannigan

Very nice Ex. that got a liscensed trem on it?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

All LTD's have licenseds on them. Only proper ESP's have real FRs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,326 ✭✭✭Zapp Brannigan

not true, my M1000FM is comgin with a real FR. but that is a LTD Deluxe.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Ah, right you are. Anything below the Deluxe series is Licsenced and ESP UK don't deal with real FR's.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,326 ✭✭✭Zapp Brannigan

interesting, i didnt know that. im dealing with a dealer in Cali who's hooking me up with a killer deal on the guitar ;)

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Nice. Just to let you know, you won't be able to get ANY warrentee work done on it in this country. And that Cali dealer could loose their dealership if ESP found out about them exporting guitars. ESP don't take kindly to it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,326 ✭✭✭Zapp Brannigan

not really importing, cos he's selling it to a mate in the states, whos giving it to me when i go to NY. so the guitar would be in his name.

Ah right. Point still stands though about warrantee work though. I was reading over the ESP UK forums that a bloke bought a EC-1000 from Thomann that came without a pickup cover and no hard case. All 1000 series guitars come with cases.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,326 ✭✭✭Zapp Brannigan

yeah, well the guitar will arrive a month or so before i do, which means that on the offchance that something is wrong there will be time to have it seen to and fixed. Plus the guy who its shipping to is very good mates with the dealer so it will be sorted, hopefully!!
I just gotta worry about customs robbing me blind!!

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Excellent stuff. Lemme send ya a pm...

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 9,654 Mod ✭✭✭✭mayordenis

    well im 18 . . . look younger i know,
The LTD has a licensed but its the EX-351 which
to my knowledge isnt being made any more
    plays very well,
But the pickups are just plain dull.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Aye, the 351 series is discontinued. EMG-HZs?

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 9,654 Mod ✭✭✭✭mayordenis

Yea they are terrible pieces of terrible,
Sounded better a few years ago something about them now just isnt right.
Thats where im gonna throw the 81/85 set during the week.

Some people love them, some hate them. I've never tried them myself.

All explorers should have 81/60 tbh.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 9,654 Mod ✭✭✭✭mayordenis

which is what i was going to go for,
But with my time retraints im just opting for the 81/85,
being a waterford lad im not spoiled for choice.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    EMG 81

    EMG 60

    EMG 85

    The internet. It's fantastic!

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 9,654 Mod ✭✭✭✭mayordenis

oh i know i can get the them on the net,
its just i want them in the guitar by midweek.
and i'll get a good deal as the guy in the shop knows my family well and i have some crap i want to trade in.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    Ah, fair enough so.

    Hey denis

For EMG 81/85s you need to do some body work to hold a battery cavity for the pickups, are you putting it on the Ibanez or Ltd?

    Jayce

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

That's incorrect Jayce. You do not need a battery cavity. You can wrap the battery in the foam that comes with the pickups and place it in the electronics cavity.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 9,654 Mod ✭✭✭✭mayordenis

    its goin in the LTD
