Myself and family are going to LA this July.I said to a mate that we're bring over not much as to stock up when coming back with some bargains(clothes etc).He said that they weigh the cases going over and when coming back if they are heavier than normal that the jig is up.....

    Is this true?

Complete bollocks - airlines weigh bags to see if you're over the weight limit, they don't keep records.

Make sure you take the tags off the clothes and mail the reciepts home. If customs check you on the way back and find either tags or reciepts they will charge you duty.

Oh, here we go again. :D

Hands up who has ever seen customs at Dublin airport? Anyone? Down the back? No?

Hands up anyone who would actually walk through the Red Channel. Anyone?

Hands up anyone who thinks customs are more interested the occasional traveller with a couple of shirts than a drug mule from South America?
