was living in greece for a while, and took a trip up to sofia, id say go for the experience, its so different to ireland. be prepared for some shocking rich/poor divisions though. havent been to the touristy areas, but my mom was there once and she said it was very much the same. some great clubs in sofia tho.

Here is a highly recomended place to stay in Bansko,

    www.rahoff.hit.bg

We stayed there recently and the rates are very reasnoble, It is run by a family and service and politeness is second to none,

when you view the website, the place looks a lot different to what it does in the snow season,

There is a lot of bulilding work going on around the hotel at the moment and will not affect your quality of stay one, bit.

They are Local bulgarians and have fluent english,

We travelled there from sofia, stayed for three nights then went on to Plovdiv.

When we return to Bansko later this year we will be staying there as we have allready reserved the room.
