I'm soon to but a new PC which has a SATA hard drive, but I want to add my existing 120gb IDE hard drive as a 2nd drive. I don't know much about SATA, can I use the 2 drives in a pc at the same time? Do you have to get some sort of adaptor or can I only use an external cradle?

    cheers

Once the motherboard has a IDE connector, which it should, they will work fine.

once you set the bios boot order , should work fine , pending jumper cables being correct

The Computer will be a Dell Dimension 5000. I though SATA had different connectors? How does it work exactly?

    Thanks

the motherboard should have different connectors on it, one for IDE cables and one for SATA. Sorry, this pic has a cable going into the IDE socket.
