Dreaming of...exams?!?!

anyone else having pre exam dreams/nightmares?

last night i had a very vivid dream that i was about to sit the LC English paper, but for some reason my teacher hadn't done any essays with us that year. i woke up very angry at the teacher - it took me a minute or two to remember i wasn't doing the LC, then a couple of seconds of relief followed by 'oh, have those college exam things...'.

in the past week i've had the going-to-the-wrong-place-for-the-exam and the i-can't-understand-the-language-the-exam-is-written-in dreams.

haven't had the 'realising i'm naked in the middle of the exam' dream - yet...

Heheh.. Exams don't seem to have penetrated my subconscious. Though last nite I did have a dream that my mate had a kid, a toddler who's name was Awole (wtf!?), he was writing me poetic letters about how the kid picked up a raquet and would someday be a great tennis player like me (I don't even play tennis!). So yeah, not a little bit disturbed when I woke up..

I dreamt Andrew was wearing his Frames t-shirt that says 'FAKE' across the chest, and I had to explain the sociological ramifications of it to a bearded professor who was grading me.

I wrote a bit of what I said to the professor down but just had to delete it cos it's too weird.

Funny that you should mention it but I had a rather strange, and strangely still vivid dream last night too. Not about college in anyway I don't think. No actually it was. Lol. Very strange it is. It wouldn't make any sense written down.

I had a very scary dream involving a Rubix cube made of lasers, that kept changing shape and getting faster and faster, and if I was wrong it would slice me to pieces. ****'s sake I was glad when I woke up..

My scariest dream was the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters was coming down my street and was going to kill me.

Well here goes.

I'm at a college class party. I don't know anyone really. But I know the guy who's doing the Karaoke. And he puts on this daft 60's swing music and he walks over to me, and in my dream everyone's attention is on me. And i'm saying to myself, don't let him come over and make me dance.... But that's what he does. So in my dream, i briefly consider just going Get the Fukc away from me I'm not dancing on my own on this big ballroom. But, then I say, I don't want to give everyone the first and only impression of me as a spoil sport. So within dreamy nanoseconds there i am boggying away. I'm doing the twist and from the corner of my REM eye I see this blonde being ushered over by the Karaoke guy in my direction and she grabs me by the hands and starts dancing. At this moment i realise everyone else is also dancing away (think Grease at their prom).

But soon as you can see, get your coat, she's leading me out the door. And i'm like "waHEY". So we go out the door and i realise we were just in some kind of cool collge JCR or something cos we've jsut walked into a room full of lecturers. The room is like the staff room in "teachers" the lectures are all sitting around, at desks covered in books, reading newspapers and drinking coffee. Except for a guy playing rather animately at pool on a pool table, a guy juggling (looks like a maths prof) and some other strange goings on. Se we're slipping through unnoticed and for some reason we're not holding hands. And she's a few paces ahead of me. Then she turns a corner. And in my stupid semi lucid dream state i say to myself, i hope I don't lose her now. So i turn the bed and i can't see her. there's a corridor leading directly ahead and there's an escalotlr jsut to my right. So i say to myself, i want to find this girl, but i also want to see what's at the top of this escalaltor. So i say " i'll just pop up and see if she's there".

So up I go, and at the top, i find, to my surprisement, a sports clothing shop for college staff. So i'm browsing around (it looks like Lifesytle in Jervis Street SC) and i see all this branded clothing that is absolutely minging. For some reason i get the impression that it's branded because it's cheap. Anyway, i browse around and i walk over and see some rugby balls for sale. The balls are stacked against the wall. I pick one out, and for somereason, i can still remember it's a blue and red gilbert rugby ball with a 8.99 price tag, which i remember thinking isn't a bad price at all.

Then i wake up and say, that was weird.

Pet, that was my entire point. it was still quite vivid. i woke, and then remembered everything very well. had a think about it. contemplated writing down. fell asleep. then was reminded by it when cuckoo wrote abot her dream.

All piss take aside the film actually is full of homo eroticism. The scene where Baron Harkonne removes the heart plug from the servant and his basks in his bloods, the scene where sting comes out of the steam room wearing the winged underwear, and not to forget the knife fight at the end. Heheh that's mad. For some reason I thought that the heartplugged servant was meant to be a boy. In the books anyway the baron was meant to have a sickeningly sadistic fascination for boys as opposed to men, Paul and Feyd (sting) being of around ~15/16 in the book.

Last night i dreamt about the library - all i can really remember was looking for a book that didn't exist and for some reason wandering up and down the sinister movable shelving for journals in the Ham library.

After reading these posts i'll probably be having strange homo erotic dreams tonight - all in the setting of an exam hall, naturally.

As for me, these days i'm barely dreaming, too tired for it, just a blank sheet, pity cause i have some class dreams. Though that time between going to bed n going to sleep some wierd **** goes through my head . I luv when i figure out something thats been bugging me , or realise i can recall the details of an algorithm (i believe it was rijndael's advanced encryption algorithm last..).


Anyone else ever have them wierd times when ye keep think'n about 20 million things at once n its all a bit chaotic? .... caffine makes me rant.

That's very interesting. The common interpretation of 'exam-dreams' is that it is a manifestation of a conscious suppression of the feeling that you consider yourself a fake/phony and are about to be found out. A lot of people seem to get this dream when they change jobs or get into new relationships.

I'm 35 and I still have nightmares about doing LC Irish...in the nip! *shudder*
