i really dont know what to say about this album.... words cant describe how im feeling about it right now... its great, really really great... so much better than the debut...
those solos, those solos, how does he do it...
i think its the drown me slowly solo, its a completely evolved version of the bulls on parade solo...
Timmy is much more involved in this album too; last album the bass seemed weak, but its kicking ass on this album...
ooh yesterday to tomorrow is a beautiful song, listening to it now....
anyway, i highly recommend EVERYONE buy this album on friday.

Obtained it this morning......Like what I hear so far. Bit improvement on first effort.
Cornell sounds good on it. Wonder if he can pull it off live.

looking forward to it. only heard the single so far, sounds very "like a stone"ish, which is one of my favourite songs from the 1st album...

very good but very different from the first album. I think a lot of fans won't like it though, esp. the RATM fans.. ****in awful version of Like A Stone on it though as the Bonus track. It's just Cornell acoustic by himself so no Tom solo. It's the worst live song by them I have ever heard. and I've heard lots. I wish they never put it on the album.

Been listening to it again and again. Has some great songs. Number 1 Zero is better than anything they have done. Drown me Slowly and Yesterday to Tomorrow rock aswell.

Definitely seems like an improvement on the first album, some really cool Morello solos. I've been a bit disappointed with Cornell's voice on both albums compared to Soundgarden stuff but I suppose nobody can rape their voice like that all their life.

Vocals in Number 1 Zero are great!

Just got the album yesterday and its fecking class right up there with audioslave the album, alot of RATM in it & Morello’s guitar solos :D

And a great acoustic version of 'Like A Stone' as a bonus track.

I wouldnt say theres loads of RATM. I'd say its more soundgarden than rage but a great album whatever you class it.

There's no rage at all apart from the Bulls On Parade solo

I heard Be Yourself a while back, and thought it was fairly awful....sub U2 radio rock fluff, predictable as hell, standard Morello wah solo, blech. Then I heard Your Time Has Come, which is basically Cochise rehashed (nice solo though), so my hopes weren't too high for this album. First album had it's moments but was overall quite mediocre, just sounded like Cornell singing over a bunch of 2nd rate RATM riffs.

Well OOE is definitely an overall improvement. Apart from the aforementioned two tracks (which I maintain are dire) this is quite decent, and there's been a definite reconciliation between the band and Cornell, they fit together a lot better this time. The sub Rage riffs are fewer this time 'round, and it's a lot more cohesive. So I think it would warrant a 7/10 overall probably, as I still think it pales in comparison to anything by the member's previous bands. Also, Cornell's lyrics sound a bit silly in places, and sometimes it sounds like his heart isn't really in it. So yeah, not a bad effort, but indicative of the state of the mainstream rock scene that something so unspectacular as this will inevitably sell so well...am I being harsh?

I loved the first album, mainly because of the slowed stuff which I wasn't expecting at all.

Are there many slower songs on the new album aka. 'i am the highway' etc.?

I really do like the new stuff but I still prefer their first album. I cant wait to see them at Oxegen it's been such a long time since I've seen them live :D
