I doubt if you woudl see any Fiat 130's in Ireland - they were extremely rare even when new. Come to think of it you would not even see too many Fiat Uno's around now and those were very common even 5 years ago

    Count me in! Fiats rock!!
Actually an Italian guy left a note on my windscreen last week to call him as he wanted to chat about my Fiat!

I'm pretty sure I saw a Fiat 130 off Pearse Street about 2 weeks ago. Never seen one for sale in Ireland though.

There was a guy just North of Swords had a 130 Coupe last year. I believe he was about to start doing the body o it. It was a pale blue metallic one.....super looking car....or at least it will be when restored !

There used to be two in my neighbourhood back inthe late '70's early 80's. Never saw a 4 door one over here though !

I have never seen a Fiat 130 (coupe or sedan) in Ireland. It's around 10-15 years since I saw a 131 or 132. Although I did see a mint looking Argenta about 8 years ago :)

Check out this road test of the Fiat 130 and its competitors. It's called the 3200 in this test, I think that designation was used in some markets

last time i saw a f 130 was abt 20 yrs ago. you do see them for sale in the uk though. If you go to italy there are a surprising amount of old fiats around, I guess the climate helps

There used to be a 4door 130 upside down in a field near mallow until 2 years ago. i think it was there about 15 years like that. A bit like that old granada hatchback dowm off the road under the trees on the way to cork. somewhere past buttevent i think. anyone remember either. granada was weird redish brown metallic and 130 was red. something i havnt seen in years is a nissan/datsun laurel, also a cherry. Any one know of a rear wheel drive starlet for sale in county limerick area? or anything cheap and rear wheel drive?

There are two RWD Starlets for sale in Friday's Buy & Sell (both in the same ad).
One is listed as being modified for rallying, the other may be in original spec.

I wish you luck in your quest, rustheap. I have been a fan of the Fiat 130 coupe since they were new.

Almost bought one once, here in Ireland. It was a silver 130 coupe, with wonderful orange velour upholstery. I demurred, it had been hit along the rhs, and rust gremlins were at work. It was originally owned by Joe Walsh of JWT. I don't know if the car survives.

They were really expensive and would have been scarce when new. I remember seeing a 130 saloon in Maynooth once. It was silver, parked on the footpath outside Brady's. I've never seen the red one though.

They were made with substandard steel, like all Fiats of the time. Rust went through them, big time. Your best bet is buying one from England. If you are really serious, join a Fiat club over there, and wait until the right car comes up. Restoration on these is really challenging. Spare parts are model specific in many cases, and supply non-existent.

They are very worthwhile doing up. I suspect you would need to buy the best car you can afford. Turning one of these from a rust bucket to a show car would require a lottery win.
