HE HAS JUST ALMOST DONE IT AGAIN! He came out in a one on one at the corner of the box towards the right hand corner flag and he could not get the ball. OMG HE IS DREADFUL!

    Someone explain exactly what happened.

He is indeed a no talent ass clown

For the goal, it was a corner, Le Saux whipped in a ball, he ran out to paff it with his hands but he missed and it then went in off O'Sheas leg.

Must be one of those days. Rab Douglas tried to catch the ball 3 times today and dropped it each time.

It was an ill-advised rush from goal, but in fairness to him a defender took it away from him with their head, brown or fortune, didn't get a good look.

I don't think Chelsea would have even managed 3rd this year with that ass in goal.

other than those two mistakes he had a great game.

judge his entire performance before referring to the guy as an "ass-clown".

Thats the problem with Roy. He can be very good but is always liable to gift a goal by a sloppy mistake which he does too often to be number one keeper at United IMHO.

I don't get what is going on to be honest. Surely they knew he was pants years ago...

If a keeper gifts a one goal to the opposition, and almost gifts another, no matter how well he does in the rest of the game I wouldnt say he had a good game.

Its a harsh position to play in, but thats the criticism you have to take. He is not good enough for a club with Uniteds aspirations. He makes mistakes that are taking points about every two or three games he plays.

And goalkeeping errors have fundamentally cost Utd or have had an influence on them being knocked out in Europe. How the hell did Jerzy Dudek get so lucky? he is just as pants I reckon.

Dudek is a better keeper than Carroll. His problem is that generally his mistakes come in more high profile games so they are scrutinised more.

I rate Timmy Howlard/Roy Caroll/Jerzy Dudek and Lehmann all in the same category for slightly different reasons. Clowns!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Dudek is a lot more consistant and better than Caroll.

I think Howard should be brought back in for the FA Cup :/
I think the United goal will be under lots of pressure and Howard is a better shot stopper

Throughout the season I have thought that Roy Carroll was the better keeper in the United squad but now I'm not too sure. Anyone know what the story with Ricardo is? I know he's 34 and I think I saw a quote from him which was basically saying that he is great and wasted at United.

There seems to be a lack of good goalkeepers in world football today. Is this my ignorance or is there a genuine shortage of keepers?

The PSV goalkeeper Gomes is the only one who springs to mind who might even become available over the Summer.

Surely Given must be available to anyone half decent.

In rich countries , yes, Lots of them in Eastern Europe .

Cech, Dudek, Niemi are a few come to mind. Cech was worth 5 yards to Chelsea all season .

The Espanyol keeper is good. Kameni...young and i doubt he would cost that much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

I'd imagine Cudicini will be moving in the summer aswell. So thats two very good ones in th epremiership.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,220 ✭✭✭✭Lex Luthor

I'm not a fan of Given.....Cudicini would be a safer buy.

  • Moderators, Regional North East Moderators Posts: 12,739 Mod ✭✭✭✭cournioni

Cudicini is prone to his mistakes aswell. I think that if United are to win anything we'll need a keeper like Buffon, Casillas or Kameni and only one of those seem to be available at the moment. United should go for him because the keepers look like they are more interested in Circus jokes rather than keeping the ball out of the net.

Surely Given must be available to anyone half decent.

Given appears the be the last player left who is actually loyal to his club....regardless of how much they screw up :p
Reckon he should have left 2 or 3 years ago and went to Arsenal or United....fair enough he still gets credit for being a top keeper but he'll have no medals to show for it.

The thing about Given is this injury he has, is it his hip?

I don't think United would be interested.

The Espanyol goalkeeper looks a class act, and would be my choice, him or Cudicini.

Im startin to think that Kiely is better than Given. I think hes had a better season this year.

PS Howard signed a 2 year extension to his contract with United to keep him at Old Trafford til June 2009!!!

I'd say that's more of a back up keeper to whom ever they buy in the summer.

    B.

    .

that all cleared up now, only time he has been injured in 4 seasons isnt it? not too shabby.

kiely is another excellent keeeper, kept west brom is the premiership yesterday. Niemi is available now aswell.

RObert green and the palace goaly(not even gonna try and spell his name) are both good keepers aswell. If i was a mid-table premiership team or on the way up they are definitly worth a try.

The ipwich keeper has had some excellent performances aswell from the matches i have seen.

Kameni is a tremendous shot stopper but very erratic and does some crazy stuff, I'm not sure he'd be any more popular than Howard is...

Yeah, people seem to be harping on about this fella because he is being linked with whatever club they support.

I havnt seen that much of him, and what I have seen he has looked ok, but in all fairness I wouldnt have a huge amount of confidence in a young African keeper ruling the backline of my team based on one good season in Spain.
