It's a bloody weird place - in the best possible sense :)

The trourist office fed me (right there and then) then sent me on a free boat ride across to Kowloon....

There are other nations there! - I spent a month in PR China and the only black man / Indian / pretty much the only white I saw was in HK.

Electronics are cheap - but watch out.

I bought all my computer components in Golden Computer Centre in Wan Chai (I think, was deffo Golden Comp. Centre).

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ON NATHAN ROAD!!! (but do sleep there, I recommend Cosmic Apartments (12F? Mirador Mansions, Nathan Road).
It's walking distance from the trains station.

Use the underground (buy an Octopus card) - it's THE way to travel.

I was there 3 years ago and wanna go back.

Take a trip up Victoria Peak (on the cable car), get lost in the jungle on the far side.

Get out to Lantau Island and see the Big Budda too, quite a sight.

Very cool city was just there in Jan. Much cheaper to stay in Kowloon too and the subway and trains are cheap and safe.

The price is little bit cheaper than here and more choices as well. The best place to do shopping is Golden Computer Centre in Wan Chai. Don't worry about language, most of HKish can speak english. by the way, I am HKish. :D
