This is the DVD-RAM/+/-R/RW drive that came with the Gericom laptop from Aldi the other day, and is also the "superdrive" that comes with some Macs. I'm having a bastard of a time finding any region free firmware for it on google (and the usual haunt, forum.rpc1.org). Anyone got any ideas how to make this region free?…

Also, VLC will play DVDs no matter what region they are, but that's beside the point

I have a UJ825S and there is no firmware available for it.
Well there is, but it is old and useless firmware, that makes the machine worse, not better.
