Ok folks as a student of Red King Taekwondo Club I can hereby tell you that Redking TKD will hold its first annual tournament in Cashel of the Kings, Co. Tipperary, under the shadow of St Patrick Rock.

The event is to be held in Halla Na Feile, commencing at 10.30am sharp.
The event is open to both Junior and Senior sections. with juniors(under 18) paying €15 and adults paying €20 to compete. There will be Patterns, Sparring, and Mucisal/weapons sections.

Spectators charge of €5 and family entry fee at €10. Spectators pay on entry!

As I am only a student, and not the sole organiser I cannnot say if this is an open event or only by invite, but if any club is interested in competiting, pop me a PM and I'll give you the details, up to my instructor to say if yo can compete or not!

Sorry, never included a date, its being held on Sunday 29th May. Persons much pre-register by the 21st May.

I think there maybe folks from kickboxing backgrounds but I'm really not sure. Like I say, I'm only a student of Redking and not organising it, so if you wanna contact my instructor, you can get all his details by sending me a PM.

Usually black-belts get roped into organising, refereeing or judging at these things. Are you sure you want to be showing youselves lads?

Sorry to bump this up, but I thought i'd give a brief report on how things went.

One word sums it up really "Wow"! It was amazing, really great sparring from all grades. Patterns section went down well also, and a few of the kids did musical patterns which was very impressive (first time I've ever seen musical patterns done).

I had a really great time with the sparring. Was in the senior heavyweight category with white to green belt (was points sparring). I got as far as fighting for 3rd position and had to fight a lad from my own group. Man was it some fight. We were both going at each other hard trying desperately to get the points. A few hay makers were thrown I came out with a fat lip, and he a bloody nose, but in the end he was winner. Am still pleased with myself all the same that I got that far.... Its all experience.

Was a good turn out also with students from White Dragan MA Cork, Kinsale Martial Arts, Banner MA school, Family Martial Arts Black Belt school, and others. An amazing day, and some really impressive fights in the senior black belts section too.

    Memphis,
Sounds like ye had fun and cheers for the text!
Sorry I didn't make it up for a look but I hope to meet at the Summer Camp as it's local!!
Good job in the sparring, especially against a mate as he prolly knows your moves and had thought about how to counter you, something a new fighter won't be able to do until after the first round;)
Who reffed the spars and did you think they were open and fair about it?
Did Ruairi fight? I'd like to see him go as he looks like one of them wee fast feckers I had to fight back in the land that time forgot!
Glad you enjoyed it and we'll meet up one of these days for some moves and a few beers!
    Vae Victus!

It was incredible, really enjoyed it ok. I'll get my mate next time. I think that fact that we had both sparred together during training was an advantage for us both, but he was the lucky one and got 3rd, and as Ann Robinson would say "I left with nothing".

Mr Fradgely (sp?) from White Dragon was ref of my sparring section, was most fair, and open to all groups. No, Ruairi didn't spar, would love to have seen him do so though... have yet to see him spar, but I'm told he's tough, fast on the feet, with lots of punching.... but have yet to see!!!

Musashi, will probably be done in your neck of the wood for the bank holiday weekend.... I will text/ring ya beforehand.
