Today Show on RTE Covers VoIP

    Pat Kenny,

has just done a segment on his program about VoIP and how it can save you money on your phone calls. He was interviewing Adrian Wreckler about this and basically we got an advert for Skype. There was a couple of figures thrown out as part of the discussion which may have caused some concern for Comreg. The BB penetration figure for Ireland was listed as '7 or 8%' and the percentage of houses with Computers as 50%.

It is interesting that this is getting coverage, and hopefully will encourage more people to look at the technology as a way to reduce their bills particularly on overseas calls.

No doubt the archive of the program will be up on the RTE website in a day or so. The piece is about 35 - 40 minutes into the show.

The link is here and the piece starts at 36:20. Note this is the latest show link and will change on Monday.
