    Hi all
Just a post to see if anyone has experience using a couple of languages on OS X.
I'm going to Germany for a few months and so I've got Irish and German language settings in my toolbar. All I want from the German language settings is to be able to get an Umlaut over vowels the same way as I currently get fadas as Gaeilge, ie. by just holding Alt+Vowel. But the German setting remaps my keys.. the '/" key types ä and some other stuff like that.

Anyone know any alternative way of handling it?

In Greek those kinds of things are with the ; or : key.

    This any help?

Thanks for the link. The site there basically says that the problem with switching language is that it'll remap the keys.. maybe if I have my default set to US or UK English as opposed to Irish, I might get an Umlaut when I hold Alt+Vowel. I'll check it out..

Yeah remapping the keys will happen. A Russian ex girlfriend of mine bought stickers that you stuck over the keys and it shows you what key is what. Try buying some or making your own with sellotape.
