I have a Lexmark with no cartridges and a new cartridge is 40 Euro.
So looking for a cheap printer (not Lexmark) if anybody knows anywhere doing them?
Tried Dell.ie but they have nothing.

how cheap do you mean? I know pcworld had a samsung laser printer for €80 a few months ago.

You could get a refill kit in maplins maybe.

BTW dell machines are rebadged lexmarks so you'd have the same problem with cartridges even if they did have them in stock.

Probably of no interest to you but if you're down around limerick anytime i know where you can get a new hp photosmart 7450 for around the €70 mark ;)

Cheers for the offer m8 but I think I'll stick to Dublin (slightly safer  ish!)

Check out these guys for re-fills. Manx Print Care, they do Lexmark cartirdges (http://www.printconsumables.com/default.php?cPath=_31).

I use them for canon cartridges. Their own brand cartridges are really cheap. I got 2 black and 2 colour's for a little over the price of one colour a while ago.

Ink quality if fine, can't notice any difference against the branded inks.

You have the wait on postage though, so if you're in a tearing hurry, perhaps not ideal for you just now.

Tried Dell.ie but they have nothing.
    Dells are rebranded Lexmarks btw.

If you want cheap refils, get yourself a Canon Inkjet printer. Argos have one.

Bought a canon IP4000 from dabs.co.uk for 150 euro delivered. Its 240 in peats and in the fuiji centre. It prints better photos than the professional labs.

    I recommend the Canon IP3000.
Its a superb printer ,you can directly print cd's with it and it is extremely efficient on ink.
Pixmania sell it for 99 euro plus 13 euro delivery or you could get it in Argos for €129.99.
I cannot recommend it highly enough.

or the IP1500 if your just printing documents. Genuine black ink is €10 and colour ink is €20, printer is €79 i think

Plenty of cartridges, refills etc at selectafont.

    Cheers Kristok
That looks a good deal, not worth while buying cartridges if I can get a new printer for nearly the same money I guess.

remember that epson cartridges are also quite expensive though and you may only get a trial (half filled) cartridge when you buy the printer

The epson carts also are the only ones i know of that have a chip in them that marks the cart empty before it really is and even refilling them doesnt work - you need to buy a chip reseter to reuse an epson cart - another 30 euros - or buy non epson carts.

Roches stores have Canon and Epson carts reall really cheap (about 6 euros)

    “Roll it back”

Epson give full carts with their printers, its their main POS selling point. HP give 'gesture' carts.

I got a Lexmark photo printer in PC World a few weeks back for €50. Refill kits for the ink are quite cheep too so that's not a bad route to go down.

got the dell printer on special few months ago for 15euro delivered, the ink is still pretty full in it despite project printing seasons. FFS I should have bought like 10 of them. Well happy with it havent' looked into getting ink for it or what is available.

I also have an epson c42ux, which I got at a reduced price from Komplett for around 25euro. It was okay on ink but I didn't like paying 20-30euro for ink so I started using refill kits from http://www.jrinkjet.co.uk or .com, with the epson you had to buy a resetter for the ink cartridge so I say i spend around 25euro on that and black and colour ink bottles. I had refilled them 4 times and I say there is 1/2 more goes left out of the ink bottles. Of course you can always buy bigger refill bottles (i only got small sample sized ones) which would give you better value again.

    re: argos 3 in 1

are they any good? the 75eur-does this include ink? cables?

i want to buy a scanner, just to have for the occasional use, so doesnt have to be high quality. also need a printer, same standard required, occasional printing.

would the argos 3 in 1 meet my needs? also how big is it?
