If you can, get lessons or some kind of help in the right general direction.
Look it up on how to play them properly on the net.
If you play them right, they can really kick ass.
You can get cheap ones easy for learning, not sure about town, but there's a shop in bray that sells little bongos for around €30.

Go out and buy a Preston Epps record if you want to hear how the bongos are meant to be played. Also, The Incredible Bongo band are quite good.

Go with LP (latin Percussion) bongos cos they're the best value and make imho. Online is best :) You can get an LP kit of bongos, cowbell and beater and a carry bag.
Look around for the best price on all the big ones, Steveweissmusic, mannys (maybe  ), music 123, thomann and search for latin percussion instrument shops online you might get a good deal if you look powerful hard. Only get them from U.S sites or thomann cos they're the cheapest, sterling sucks ass.
Then learn some stuff from the web. As far as I know you could go for lessons in waltons ( ), some place called masamba near the coomb ( :) ) or you could seek out private lessons by posting up for them. Try here and gigsmartireland and any other forum you know.
