Love the first one. Car parks are inexplicably awesome.

The one with the little traffic glowy box things is also very cool. Nice contrast between light and dark and all that jazz. And I just like night shots.

I really liked some of them (the car park, the lit up road boxes, the kids) as a theme on artificality and modern functional design. They are very man made spaces, cold and functional, especially with the artifical light at night, with any form of artistic warmth stripped away. But at the same time there is something distrubingly fascinating about them.

I am not sure what exactly the overall theme you were going for but I don't think the other pictures tie into that theme very well and as such I think the portofolio would be better without them (what is particularly modern about a park bench or tires?)

Was that the idea you were going for, and do you have any more that tie in closer to a theme of articfical spaces?

what is particularly modern about a park bench or tires?)

The Bench photo i felt had a interesting asthetic too it, The contrast between the rough uncared for, wild grass with weeds growing through it in the foreground, Compared to the manufactured and manacured grass in the background. The benches composition divides the image up.

The tyres were investigating the synthetic, un-natural, mass produced materials. i was exploring the uniform and structured nature of man made synthetics. ( i believe these material we've created, tell us a lot about our way of thinking and what see as 'correct') I liked the way the tyres occupied the complete space within the photo, leaving little reference for orientation.

I do see what your your saying, the subject i was investigating was a little broad to fit into one theme i could probably have broken it down into 3-4 separate projects. Ill post up photos them hung, cause its difficult to see a theme by flicking through them individually, than when their all presented right in front of you.

If you thought those did'nt fit the theme then what do recon of this one

Hm.. I like some of the ideas.. in general I'd guess ur a beginner, I like the first one, but i feel i'd be better if u fiddled around with the levels and curves.. also.. if u took it with less exposure.. in general good work.. some are good.. some are well.. like a random shot.. nothing to artistic.. but then again, everynoe has room for improvement.. I might head up to Dundrum SC soon for some pics.. i went up last time, and said to myself that i should have brought the cam..

I'm going to have that etched into my headstone... and then have someone take a picture of it.
