    Foley's up to 61.
Keep voting and we'll bring him up to 100%!! :p
Can't believe Pelous is still on 0.
Munster Vs. Wasps is way out in front for match of the decade... pity we had to be on the wrong end of that result.

I think Foley is there primarily due to the statas. If you look at the ERC website he is the most capped player in ERC history at the moment as well as being in the top 5 try scorers.

He is a good player and has always done well but he has never particularly stuck out for me. One of the quiet hero's type job :D

    And ruined it was
    ERC Rugby wrote:
He's been at the coal face of European professional rugby right from the start and now his hard graft has been recognised by the people who matter most . . . the FANS.
It should have been a tough call, choosing between some of the greatest names of the first decade of professional rugby in the northern hemisphere but, in the end, there was one man who stood, as ever, head and shoulders above the rest - ANTHONY FOLEY.
The great man of Munster, the first player to receive an ERC Elite Award for playing 50 Heineken Cup games, was the pick of the bunch after users of ercrugby.com voted in their droves for their heroes.
In fact, there were more than 100,000 votes polled and Foley picked up an amazing 65 per cent of the vote. The Munster and Ireland No 8 finished with 65,535 votes to Martin Johnson's 29,585. ”I’m delighted. I wondered why my mother had been so busy on the internet,” joked Foley.

”It has been a real pleasure playing in this tournament from the outset, and it has changed dramatically down the years. The competition is magnificent, which ever of the six countries you play in, and there are now no easy games.

”When Heineken Cup time comes around in the season your adrenalin starts pumping and the heart starts racing. I have been involved in some incredible games in this tournament and the Munster fans have made all of them extra special.

”I grew up with my dad, Brendan, regaling me with stories of when he helped Munster beat the All Blacks. The Heineken Cup has given me a few tales of my own to bore my kids with in the future.

“Our semi-final win over Toulouse in Bordeaux was incredible; the semi-final defeat against London Wasps was simply an amazing match to play in and then, of course, there was the so called ‘Miracle Match’ against Gloucester.

”I’ll never forget that day. There were 22 players and a few coaches who believed we could actually do it – and we did. The atmosphere in San Sebastian for this season’s quarter-final against Biarritz was rather special and I’m just looking forward to having some more great days in seasons to come.

”Thanks to everyone for voting for me, it’s a great honour.”

Foley may have ended up on the losing side in two Heineken Cup finals in the past decade, but the veteran of 67 Euro ties has become a double winner in the eyes of the fans as he not only topped the individual list of favourites, but played in what was deemed to be the match of the decade.

The pick of that bunch also included Munster, with their epic semi-final clash with London Wasps last year being selected as the top game in the tournament's history.
