Redheads

I love women with red hair. Who else here likes redheads?

I'm asking because they get a hard time from the media (especially the british) and so I want to find out how normal (i'm sure MOST of ye are!) people see them.

Please don't use the word 'ginger', thanks.

Well my best friend has red hair and it's really nice, but I know this guy who has orange hair I'm not joking and I'm sorry but I can't like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,523 ✭✭✭ApeXaviour

I'm a redhead. But I generally do not find redheaded women attractive. Maybe it's because I've gotten such stick over it over my life and I wouldn't like a guaranteed chance that my kids would be redheaded.

Ginger isn't too bad a word by itself imo.. What is bad though is when it is pronounced with a hard g (as in "get") and made to rhyme with minger.

from my experience ive found that there are two kinds of redheads-gorgeous and and just plain not (pls dont take offence any redheads both my girlfriend and mother have red hair. its just in my personal experience) there doesnt seem to be any in between. personally i'd go for the darker shade of red rather than the bright orange colour.

I'm in agreement about the orange look, the darker red is better, or the stawberry blonde is good too, generally red-headed guys have all the freckles to match though, but then it's personality I go for, I swear!

I've a severe weakness for redheads. An aversion to orange heads though.

Red hair makes me go weak at the knees. I really don't know why.

Are you implying that freckles are good or bad?

Nice sleep? Good. Welcome to this decade, you're going to like it, we had this weird "dot-com" thing while you were away but that's going to take a while to explain, hmm what else... oh! and red hair is fashionable now, many women even dying their hair red. True.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,390 ✭✭✭Stench Blossoms

My hair is naturally strawberry blonde but i got such a hard time from people askin me did i have ginger pubes and callin me names i dyed it and ive never turned back... some people just don't realise what damage they are doing slaggin people about the colour of their hair

Well as a ginger minger myself (dark red - and mostly just my beard now) I just have to say I love redheaded women. My love of red headed women and the colour green are 2 serious fetishes that most people I know are aware of.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,390 ✭✭✭Stench Blossoms

Do people like naturally red haired women or dyed red hair like this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,644 ✭✭✭✭nesf

Either works for me, but I prefer natural reds generally. Hair colour is only one thing in a multitude of things that make up attraction.

Eyes are more important in my opinion.

Have to say kirsten dunst with red hair.. was HOT.. I hate girls with natural red hair.. dyed red hair is very nice tho..

    I like redheads.

    Moved from PI.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,317 ✭✭✭✭seamus

My gf is a natural redhead and I loves it. She has no freckles though. I'm not mad at all about red hair + freckles. Makes them look like tinkers.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

Red hair is great, I love it. I like it natural more so then dyed, but both are okay - that picture someone posted is a horrible example, looks nasty.

Some freckles are sometimes good, but that hugely varies from person to person. Looks cute on some girls, others its just like - Ugh?

Guys with red hair though...poor them. I'm glad I have black hair. :)

I'm a redser(Dark red but a good few blondy streaks), I find some red head women attractive but I've never dated one. I can just imagine the slaggins if I did. But it surprises me how popular red heads are, when I was younger with aall the stick I got I thought I was destined to be single, but it proved popular.

You should post pics of red heads and we can then decide....

I like red heads, couple of friend go "Why?"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,899 ✭✭✭lacuna

Had red hair when I was a kid. Gradually it just changed to brown. I've been dying it red for the last while. I love it.

But I'm not generally attracted to men with natural red hair. Maybe one with a red mohawk...eh Ro: maaan!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 32 happyhippie

    I'm a redhead :-)

Dyed it brown for a while, I found I got attention from more guys. However, the attention I got was more 'general' attention.

With red hair, I tend to attract the fetishists and intense weirdos!! lol

I have red hair too. It's definitely not orange, suppose I'd call it auburn, it's dark but not very dark red. Since I've been a kid, no one's really slagged me at all. But I always get lots of compliments about it. Especially when I'm working, random customers will tell me I have lovely hair. Or when I'm at the hairdressers.
It also makes me more distinctive. Like people tend to remember me cos of my hair.
I do think, however that it doesn't suit everyone who has it. Would hate to have that real orangey coloured red hair. Don't particularly like it on guys either. I think that's cos it's so short on them? I dunno.
Loads of people fancy Lindsay Lohan and she's got red hair so I don't think it's a bad thing at all! (People think I look like her too!)

I was once totally obsessed with redheads and had two girlfriends with that hair colour. I can definitely say from my experience is that they are bonkers.
And also have little in the way of public hair. (It is well known that red haired people have fewer hair follicles). For girls definitely the darker the hair the better. The best looking girls I've ever seen were red.
I do however feel sorry for red haired guys - that must be a terrible affliction. Luckily though, they quailify for disability benefits.

a little rhyme i once heard:

I know a girl with ginger hair
    Deep beneath her underwear
    How do I know?
    'Cos I've been there...
    Scampi Fingers!

I've a soft spot for girls with red hair alright, but in general there's not that many celebs with natural red hair (Not gonna mention lindsey lohan, oops just did sorry), Im sure you could count them on your hand. They're most common in Ireland/england really.

My first serious boyfriend was a redhead and as he turned out to be the biggest hound in the world, I've decided I don't like redheaded men anymore!

I'm a redhead myself and my gorgeous blond American boyfriend raves about it. And he's right, too!!!

But then again, I thought the evidence of an exclamation mark at the end of such a ridiculous statement would have suggested to any sort of an adult that I was being facetious.

    But apparently not. Dear me.

Next time I'll festoon my remarks with those smily things, will I? Just so as you don't get the wrong end of the stick.

Some redheaded women look nice, but I dunno if i'd mate with one, since the red head gene seems dominant and I'd have to think of the poor ginger kids.

I'm dreading having kids because im afraid they'll have red hair 2 and i got an awful time in school and i'd hate to see me kids going through that

Na - you require a double recessive for red hair. Blue/green eyes too.

They reckon that red hair and blue eyes will be all but extinct within 2 generations. Genetic manipulation not withstanding.

I once saw these to Asian/Irish kids (7 and 10ish). They looked 100% Japanese like their father except that they had their mothers roaring red hair - the exact same shade so it wasn't dyed! If they were only a decade of so older...

You can get red hair in the family from Blondes as well.

There are alot of red heads over in finland/sweeden ... and the majority of them are Nom Noms :D:D

Thats because the vikings came to ireland and scotland and took their wives back with them.

Vikings although conquerors, always intermarried with the people already there and so there is a lot of genetic diversity. Iceland is more irish genetically than norse....

You'd be surprised how badly the tone in your head translates into the written word. Read back over what you said; easily mistaken for the ditsy idiots that frequent this site often. The exclamation mark actually adds to this inference..
