    Hi Guys

Is there anyone in Ireland doing Combatives Military hand to hand stuff. WWII combatives groups etc.

Ok I do krava maga as most regulars on here would know.

Just wondering is there any other groups out there doing their own stuff.

Heard somewhere that Denis Martin (one of the top combatives instructors in europe) was supposed to be doing a seminare here, but it fell through or something????

see the sayoc seminar thread, they call their military curriculum sayoc tactical but i dont think the public get to train in it. The regular stuff is still what you'd call combative though

whats their web site till I have a look.

99% of combatives stuff from what I seen so far is very similar.

was just wondering was there anyone else out there.

thats a good site, I ll go over that when I have more time.

There is a Combatives camp in July away way up in north sweden. all top instructors going. 4 days hand to han , knife, stick, and fire arms training on last day.

I am thinking of going myself if I can fit it in. it looks like a good camp. and the guys going are the real deal

    Millionaire,
I've not come across any "pure" combatives groups in Ireland.Krav is probably as close as you'll get really!Best to ask Mr. Comiskey about Kapap and Lotar for the blade and guns elements of combative application for Israeli styles.AFAIK, Krav is basically the unarmed segment of these two, and Jim Wagner is mates with Avi Nardia of Lotar, and also trained Mr. Comiskey so chances are good he knows some of this as well or can get info for you on it!
    Lotar
Peter Consterdines "British Combat Association" BCA covers a lot of "Real World Combatives" as well as stuff for Military and Close Protection folks.
Another guy worth a look for Street and Door stuff would be Geoff Thompson who was a door man and is well qualified in sport and Trad. MAs of all sorts. His "Fence" and "Three Second Fighter" are well worth a look.
I've not heard a lot about this group but Defend University seem to be a group teaching Police Restraint and civilian SD applications,I must contact them and see if I can learn a bit more about 'em.

Also, last but not least! SBG's own ISR MAtrix program looks good for covering assault defense and restraint and control stuff without the weapons syllabus of pure Combatives,a plus for the "not getting sued afterwards" portion of SD.SBGi / ISR Matrix

Matrix in action posted this before but I like to watch it :)

Hope this helps and feel free to ask about some of the manuals available online regarding unarmed and other disciplines, PM me if you'd prefer.

whenever we get around to training gerry i can take you through an introduction to the Intercept, Stabilise and Resolve (ISR) matrix that luis teaches to various military/security groups

John Kavanagh (aka the Mojo) took myself and a group of colleagues through an intro to the ISR matrix and its very good, particularly the not getting sued afterwards bit, we certainly found it of great benefit for real life confrontations. :)

    Musashi

ur probably the olny conbatives dude for by us.

In Krav we do all knife and gun too. too tel u all the truth what us senior krav people do is approx 60% km, we 're moved on alot from thren and we do serious knife stuff. well I did that for real anyway before KM.

having said that Combatives is the real thing cause it was designed for TAKING LIVES and staying alive yourself. horrible thing to say, unfortunately some people have been there and done that. the bad dreams never leave...

Millionaire do you do Krav maga with patrick cumiskey. Can you do ongoing training like with other martial arts or is it just the 12week course?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4 ShadyChuck

If i'm correct you can continue to train with Patrick after doing the 12 week or 2 day course, not sure what the rates are but he does do a advanced class

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,248 ✭✭✭Millionaire
