Not sure if this is the best place for this but I couldn't see anywhere better. As part of the graduation ceremony at school we're planning to put together a short presentation on a projector with some pictures of classmates over the years and maybe some music in the background. Just wondering would you reccommend using powerpoint for this or what would be best? Also anyone know where I could rent a projector to use with a laptop? Any tips/advice greatly appreciated. Cheers

Powerpoint should be fine for this. You can also get other slideshow software that's possibly easier if you just want to show a bunch of jpeg's. Openoffice also has a presentation program. You can get openoffice here. Download the 1.9 beta (pre 2.0) version. While the 1.1.x versions are stable, they're not nearly as good.

Why don't you ask one of your teachers at school for a projector? Preferably a teacher that likes you ;)

Got that all sorted nicely with powerpoint. Only thing I need now is to somehow crossfade between the songs in the background. I'm thinking that the best way to go about this would be to just make one long mp3 with the songs all mixed together. Anyone know what I would use for this apart from playing them on WMP with crosfading and using sound recorder? Cheers

do you want one song per slide ? or the all the songs to fit the duration of the presentation or presentation to fit the duration of songs ?

We want to have the songs playing for the duration of the presentation. At the moment we have that but the transition between songs sounds terrible and at the end it just stops abruptyl That's why I wanted to edit the songs to one mp3. Cheers

I can put it together in keynote or Iphoto on a Mac if you want and output it so it plays as a powerpoint file

If you would be able to edit the mp3s that would be great. I have allready made the slideshow, it's only the music that's dodge. Cheers

either protools or bias , haven't decided yet

presume you just want the songs to fade out in or crossfade( between songs ) and then fade out at the end
