    Hey Everyone,

I'm Spening two weeks in the states in about a month..

The plan so far is fly into San Fran and spend a few days there. Then to Lake Tahoe a few days there, then Las Vegas a few days there then Yosemite Nat Park and then back to San Fran.

I would appreciate anybodys ideas of activities in those areas.. Hotels they can recommend. Unusual tourist attactions aside from the typical. Any tips such as cheap ways of getting around in the cities and places to Party <- Very important.

No tips to small and all ideas very welcome

    Thanks

    hi,

i would have though san fran, yosemite, tahoe and then vegas would have made a more logical route (geography wise?)

Vegas is great fun, we stayed in the Barbary Coast for 3 night, ($130 with flights from san fran) and its right beside NY NY, Paris Ceasar's Palace etc, some friends were staying in the Sahara and we did all our gambling there, $1 chip tables.

San Fran is great fun, check out future primitive sounds, they have great gigs on nearly every week, (google it)

other than that just play it by ear, go to Haight Ashbury.

Do Not Miss The Grand Canyon
DO NOT MISS THE GRAND CANYON

It is within a manageable distance of Las Vegas.

And try to get to Bryce Canyon too

We drove and hiked a bit.

Say the copter option would have been cool but the budget didn't stretch.

We hit the club in the MGM Grand - that was interesting ;)
We also hit every casino on the way there for a drink and a gander... free drinks if you start gambling although that can turn into a vicious circle!

Don't miss the buffets to help your hangover.

If you are in SanFran for a few days, make sure you get down to The Kells bar, its just off California Ave. Owned and run by a great guy from Belfast.
Can get very busy on Friday and Saturday nights, queues down the street, but if you get in before hand it is a great way to party in SF.

Cheap hotel in Vegas is HARRAHS, worked out at about $25 a night midweek with all food and beer comped, (had alot to do with the losses at the tables).
If you want to party go to the Palms, it has the best bars and clubs.
