My Father wants to buy one of the stand alone Digital Photo Printers, The ones that you just put in your memory card or connect your camera via USB,and doesnt need a pc. There are a few in argus but does anyone suggest anyones there or any other place and the best type?

    what's his budget?
what size does he want to print?
how concerned about quiality over price is he?

the best thing to do is go into somewhere like jessops/pc world and ask to try out their printers with the same picture off the camera

or for canon you can get a free sample print off any of their printers by registering at:

virtually all dedicated photo printers are very good quality. the more you spend the better you get. you should only make decisions based on what's best for you so bring the camera with some photos on it that are typical of the kind of things you take and bring it one of the shops I mentioned above and then you can see exactly what's best as regards price and quality

i personally wouldn't buy anything but a top of the range canon 8 colour printer (if i could afford the ink) as the quality and price you get from a photo lab is currently better than you get from home printing

i have a canon cp200. it's one of those compact 6x4" dye-sub printers. Works very well for me anyway... I've printed from the pc and by connecting the camera directly into it. Haven't made the jump to A4 size yet but when I do I'd say I'll be going to a lab
