Hey I added this station so my Da could watch the Celtic league/cup rugby...it was advertised as being shown live and the tv listings confirmed this but when he selected it the snooker was being shown instead...whats the story here is Setanta somehow able to block the freesat channels or is there a difference between BBC2 Wales and BBC2W if so how do I get the latter??

    Thanks

When was the rugby meant to be shown?

There is a difference between BBC 2 Wales (the analogue version) and BBC2W (the digital version), but according to Digiguide the rugby was supposed to be on both channels yesterday evening from 18.50 to 21.00.

The rugby might only be on the DTT/Cable version of 2W and the Satellite Version might be showing the snooker due to rights issues.

Dave, no it was the welsh game alright and he seemed to be doing everything right to switch to BBC2W (I had already tuned it in when I was last home)
BTW this is using a newish sky digibox. I wasn't there myself but you watched under similar conditions did you?
