anyone ever used these lads ?

ive been trying to buy a laptop from them since monday

first they said they couldnt ship to my work addy without seeing a copy of my passport . thinking that its strange to ask for my passport i told them ship it to my home address and ill be there whenever its going to be delivered then i was told again that to send the copy of the passport to prove i am who i say i am . again i asked why and they said it was part of there security procedure

anyone ever had any company ask them for a passport to prove who you are when buying somthing online that you would have shipped to your home address

edit- i also asked them why they couldnt just ask my credit card company to verify the details and they responded
    Hello,

yes we can do this, but unfortunately the history showed, that this is not enough.

Can you proof your adress with passport for example?

That sounds a bit suspect tbh. I'd give it a miss if i was you.

I buy all my stuff on-line from Germany and I've never heard anything like that before.

I would say that they are afraid of credit card fraud. No Guarantee of payment without having card in front of you and all of that stuff.

Why not do a direct transfer into their bank account?

    You think thats strange.

When I lived in Germany a couple of years ago, I went to buy a book and the bltch wouldnt accept my CreditCard!!!
I was standing right in front of her and handed her the Card and ...no.no.no.no!!!
She just wouldnt take it, didnt even swipe the thing in the machine!!!!
Threw the book on the counter and walked out in disgust!

People can be odd sometimes as the very same shop accepted the same card a week earlier, but with a different person at the till!!!

Dont scan a pic of your passport as your passport number is unique.
With it and your name they could create loads of them, sell them to whoever and get out loans etc... with it anywhere in the EU!!!!

Do you really want a visit from a debt collector from Poland???

The only people I allow to photocopy my passport are banks.
