    hey guys,
im now living in the states and i am very interested in buying an SG. Unfortunatly ChrisGuitars.com only has a few ugly numbers left. Does anyone know of any other sites that i can pick up a sweet, good condition SG?

    Thanks

i would have thought you could pick up a brand spanking new one for alot less seeing as you are in the home of gibson, or basically guitars are dirt cheap in america, at least compared to ireland.

    So i'm told.

I'd say it's a lot brighter in real life, but if it plays well, that doesn't matter a jot. Good luck getting a reply from Chris though, he seems to be totally overwhelmed at the moment and replies are few and far between.

    IMHO its gank-looking.
The white one is a lot better although it does have a tremolo which isn't right IMHO. Cost is USD 499 plus say USD 100 shipping. Thats ~ €460 plus VATnduty at 25.5% is a total of €577

Yeah, with a white SG you could look like the guitar god of my youth - Buck Dharma - circa 1975

If i can get the money im getting the white one,
The one thing i always wanted in an SG was a nice tremelo and string locks and this has it.

Alright Chris got back to me and said the following:
Setup on the guitar is fantastic, typical of the nicer SG's with
low action all the way up the neck. The one remaining was a floor model
with a few minute flaws from store use. It's still a 9.8 condition but not
quite dead mint. Martin set this one up last week and, big SG fan that I
am, I jammed on it for 15 min. and I can safely give it two thumbs up.

What you guys think? should i go for it? i loved the Epi SG i had before but i had to sell it as i needed some money, now that i have enough money to go and buy the real thing.

Theres also this Gothic SG for nearly a $100 cheaper.

That red one looks real nice. I'm an SG man myself. I have an Epi but I'd almost buy that if I had the money.

Must say the gothic has a great look about, but i guess it comes doen to your own opinion. as far as i know you can take his word on the guitats he isnt known for lying.

I vote for the Gothic and replace the scratchplate with a black one.

Na, replace it with a mirror finish one. Or a brushed aluminium one. Oh yeah!

hmmmm now thats an idea.... :D

I think i'll go with the gothic.

I'd prefer the gothic with a black three ply scratchplate, chrome tuners and a chrome bridge. It looks too black as it is

Not sure what the guitars are like exactly, don't play, but http:\\www.wwbw.com has some good prices.
