Any legal advice on an Irish Adult entertainment business

I want to set up an Irish based adult entertainment business (mainly web based). I have the right product/angle and a model for growth that will move alongside the changing Irish views on sexuality and pornography.

I will start filming in Ireland and keep it as extremely softcore erotica. Then get publicity (that won't be hard!!) and slowly start pushing the envelope but always remaining within the confines of state law (anything even slightly hardcore will be filmed, edited and hosted outside of Ireland).

Before taking the last step of finding a suitable solicitor to investigate the Irish obscenity laws I just wanted to see if anyone here has any thoughts.

Find a suitable solicitor to investigate the Irish obscenity laws. Find two, they'll probably give you different interpretations. Good luck with the business, but tread carefully.

There was a guy who posted on Boards last year who had\has a couple of adult sites. I don't think it'd be appropriate to post links to them though :D Actually if memory serves there was a thread last year on one of the boards where someguy said he'd had an Irish themed site as well.

The idea itself has potential but i'd advise you to be well up on Irish obscenity laws, incorporate so everything is done by the company and host EVERYTHING outside this jurisdiction. That's the way I'd do it anyway.

Expect an 'Exclusive Expóse on sordid etc.' piece in the Sunday World too.

    Best of luck.
