Graphic Settings for Slap Bass

I have a Trace Elliot 500w 12 Band Graphic EQ Amp head and an Ashdown 4 x 10" Cab. I am just wondering what should my graphic sliders be set at to make that nice punchy slap bass sound. I play a Musicman Stingray 5 String bass with a 3 band graphic (Bass, Mid, Treb) built in so I should have alot of scope to change the sound on both the Bass and the Amp. Any Ideas ?

try taking out a load of the mid scoop and boost the treble. best bet is to just experiment yourself to be honest

Start with everything flat and see what your sound needs, then add it on or take what the sound doesn't need away. As bombidol said, boosting the high end should get you closer to what you're looking for. One thing to note though, a rig like that will sound fairly ****e (dull) at low volumes, if you can, give it some welly to get a more accurate idea of the real sound of that amp and cab.

My favourite tone is half-low, half-high, and no midrange. It has a nice cavernous yet extremely clear tone for normal fingerpicking and is as punchy as id ever want it to be for slap.

bit late but heres what i do.

Boost the bass, cut lo-mids, boost hi-mids slightly less than the bass, and slightly boost treble.
