Just like soccer - who would WANT to be the next scotish coach :)

Betcha they will appoint some random pe0n from the southern hemishphere. I dont think there are any scotish legends of 80's or 90's (Hastings, Finlay caulder et al) in a state to take over an international team..

I think they are muppets for getting rid of anderson. He wont be out of a job for long. I hope Leinster snaps him up.

Meh...they're in a mess alright. I'm suprised it's taken this long though tbh.

I never really rated Williams at Leinster (despite a HC semi and a celtic leauge title), especially since Leinster can pull a higher caliber of coach (apperantly), but he really REALLY failed at the Scottish job.

With such low expectations he still underachieved with only 1 victory out of 10 six nations games, losing to Italy along the way. (and his only victory in 6N came with beating them with a poor performance this season in Murrayfield.)
His record is: played 17 Won 3 Lost 14. (the only other two victorys coming over Samoa and Japan)

Scotland can't be expected to win many games with the players available for selection, but it wouldn't have been as bad if it seemed they were improving, but despite almost causing a shock against an abysmal French side in Paris this season, they have actually gotten worse imo since he took over.

I feel sorry for the Scots though, they don't seem to be having a lot of luck in sports in general atm, hopefully they will get a quality coach in soon, and improve hugely over the next couple of seasons (not too much though ;))...but i think that's unlikely :/ it'll probably be someone already in the SRU who'll take the postition full time, but they'd be better off copying England under Woodward (and to a lesser extent Ireland under O'Sullivan), and go for a whole management team to get them out of this rutt.

Here's a comparrison between the two recent failed coaches :D Poor Scotland.
