That particular channel has broke my heart in the past. Only lately are we getting a lot of trouble with it with the same problem as you describe. It could be the lnb, the tuner in the box or even the co-ax cable. More so it has turned out to be the tuner in the box for us. Hope this help's.

    Thanks 4 reply

If you are also having trouble with it it's unlikely to be tuner in both our boxes. All stations on this one transponder is giving me trouble for more than a week now.
I just wanted to check before I started meddling. Maybe it's transmitting a week signal...quality meter fluctuates madly. Driving me mad. I use it to fall asleep by. A Boceli sounds as though he has a stammer
If you find out anything more on this will you post or pm me please??

I have 3 boxes here and its fine on them all. I also checked some of the other channels on that transponder and they are also fine. I have about 90% signal strength and quality on all 3 boxes though.

Thanks for that Leonard. really helpful. Now at least I know it's down to me. That LNB is not prime focus, 3 LNBs on 1 Dish. So it's back to fiddling / meddling again. At least I know now.
    Thanks again

Unusual - Classic FM TV never posed me any problems on my Panny TU-DSB40 but I had it replaced with a Pace DS-430N about a week back (panny just died on me - 9 months old) and Classic FM TV has been "stuttery" and freezing up a good bit, especially if there's any sort of rain. But it only seems to affect Classic FM, not any other channels from that transponder and I get about 85% signal strength and quality on that TP reading.

    Weird

    Srb

Yes to DECT phones...but they are not a new addition. They have been in place long before Dish......Why, what's the connection ?

Some of these phones can cause interference problems at certain frequencies. Mine used to wipe out the old analogue version of CNN, I cured it by simply moving the base station. If Classic FM TV has moved frequency recently then I would be even more convinced the phones where to blame. Try turning the base station off and see if it makes a difference.

I did a bit of experimenting today. Through a few calculations, I found that the frequency that Classic FM TV comes in on the CABLE to the box, is round about the 1800Mhz range - GSM mobile phones also use this frequency range 1750 - 1900 or thereabouts.

So, brought phone close to digibox, while calling voicemail - picture went crazy.
Took phone away, picture was grand.

It's also possible that a nearby phone mast (that you don't know about) could be interfering with your digibox at certain times of the day, when the power of the mast would be "higher" for peak times.
