    HEALEY LETS RIP AT AUSSIES

Lions star Austin Healey has unleashed a stunning attack on the `arrogant Aussies.`

The outspoken England back, who criticised the Lions management two weeks ago, forced his way into the starting XV for the deciding third Test against the Wallabies after an impressive performance in the win over ACT Brumbies in the tourists' last midweek game.

He was named ahead of Welshmen Dafydd James for Saturday's match at Sydney's Stadium Australia, although he didn't train today (Friday) due to a back spasm.

Under the headline: "And for our finale...stuffing the arrogant Aussies," Healey let rip with a series of savage complaints in his column in Friday's Guardian.

"To be honestly honest - and, look, I've given you everything bar the mutiny scoop - I said it was just great to be here in the team at last," said Healey.

"It is. But I can't help feeling for Dafydd James. He's out and I'm in. It's not as if he's done anything wrong, really. You know this hasn't been a bundle of laughs, this tour. Just imagine what it must be like if you get to the final match and find yourself dropped."

Healey, showing why he is known as 'the Leicester lip', blasted giant lock forward Justin Harrison, who will make his Wallaby debut on Saturday in place of the injured David Giffin.

The pair had a running battle, physical and verbal, during the Brumbies game, which the Englishman helped win with an injury-time try.

"I think I might have been in with a shout of a place for the second Test. But then I was injured in the ACT game. Something else I have to thank my mate Justin Harrison for," he said.

"I thought it was that flanker Peter Ryan who clouted me, but, no, there it is on video, my old pal, the plod from the second row.

"And what do you know, he's in the team to face us. Me and the plank. Do you think one of us will have the final say? I'll say so."

But it wasn't just the man who clattered into him as he crossed the line who was on the receiving end of Healey's bile as the Leicester man warmed to his task.

"What is it with this country? The females and children are fine, and seem to be perfectly normal human beings, but what are we going to do with this thing called the Aussie male?" railed Healey.

"Look, it got so bad I found myself agreeing with Graham Henry the other day. He said he didn't mind them being the best in the world at this or that, but why did they have to rub our faces in it the whole time?

"It doesn't half make you want to beat them."

"I tell you, I don't even know where Croatia is exactly, but did I cheer for old Goran Ivanwhatsit in the Wimbledon final, or what? Come on you Balkans. And then the Aussies built Pat Rafter into this super-hero loser. What is this place like?"

Healey signed off by saying: "Funny, isn't it? Here I am on the wing. Maybe it's my turn to say something and be sent home.

"Like, here's to stuffing it up your so-called macho jacksie. What? I'm out of here."

on another note, funny how the english build up henmann as a super-loser.

Er .. Martin Johnson, Keith Wood, Brian O'Driscoll .. just a sample
What have all these in common?
They are lions, and when beaten were very gracious. "The better team won" was said by Martin in his post match comment.

Tell you what they were not whining, but were genuine and gentlemanly.

indeed, the better team did win.
but being australian, thats not an issue.
mind you, the entire lions team was whinging when some of the state teams used 'rough tactics'
and just because a few players said 'yeah, well done lads' doesnt mean the lions team.
hey, theres no me in team wink.gif

I think the biggest bugbear was the fact the the Aussies were bring out documents accusing the Lions of foul play, while revelling in the roughhouse tactics that led to such incidents as the attack on O'Gara.

I think this led to a couple of lions reacting in a way they never would normally, but the lions for instance never called a press conference with a handout for the media, highlighting the areas of Aussie play they felt were unfair.

I'd say more whinging came from the Aussies, which ceased, when they took the test by the b***s, and did their talking on the pitch.

i didnt see the 2nd and 3rd tests, which is a shame.
i happen to be in leeds for the forst one with a bunch of english ad they were very happy with the lions lay. and in fairness, they p!ssed all over the aussies for 70 minutes, and played really well. the irish were brilliant.
    what happened after that?
i mean the 2nd half of the 2nd test they seem to fall apart completely?
