Go to the Natural History Museum - the kids will love it - the dinosaurs, the animals, the older displays about human life - it will cover the best part of a day...

Will do! And do you know of any nice hotels to stay and where to book?

Plenty of booking links in the forum sticky. Lots of hotels in London, it's a huge city - bit hard for someone to tell you where to stay.

Check out views on the hotels at www.tripadvisor.com

We stayed in the Travelodge in Islington (about 10 mins from Kings Cross) - cost a tenner during their tennertastic promotion. Hotel is being refurbished but was clean, staff friendly (threw in breakfast which was nice..).

Stay within Zones 1&2 of the tube (Islington qualifies) and within a short walking distance of a tube station (a station where lines cross is even better). Then get yourselves a weekly ticket for hopping on/off both the underground and buses. You can pretty much zip all over central London then, no matter where you are staying.

I was over with a few mates before and booked apartments here. The apartments were gorgeous, like something out of cribs.

Definately better value than booking a hotel if there is a group planning on staying more than a couple of nights.

Also means you can buy food/drink to have around the apartment.

try www.laterooms.com - it offers great value for money and you can
cross-check them in tripadvisor as previously mentioned.

    Don't forget Hamley's :)

Use Hamleys to look at things and buy elsewhere ! Harrods toy department is cheaper than Hamleys believe-it-or-not and you can buy Dublin beanie babys there...
