Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question, but I might be moving to Southampton in September til June (Doin a primary teaching course hopefully). Just wondering if anyone knows much about the place or is it a good place to be etc?

Southampton University looks good, but because I know nobody there I havent a clue what the rest of the city is like. Thanks for any info! Mods feel free to move or delete this if its not supposed to be in this forum.

been there several times and live near it
its a city on the coast, much like any other city really
actually, its not to bad. gets good weather, has decent pubs, may have a premier league football team next season.
    may not...

Spent a day in Southampton a few months ago (so can offer a veritable wealth of knowledge, almost equal to a local :)) - seemed like a very nice place, nice football stadium (they lost that day), city centre and nightlife. Never seem so many young women wearing so little clothes, like a summer's day on the beaches of San Diego!
