Was just browsing the PIXMANIA site and came across this printer, I bought one last year and paid about €195.00!!!

This is a great printer, with builit in card reader, prints directly to CD/DVD.

It's a great printer for photos, but I wouldn't really recommend it if you print out word documents or other types of text only files. The draft mode is terrible, plus the ink isn't Durabrite, so it runs very easily.

I've got an Epson C82 also, and I'd recommend that (or the newer C86 model) over the R300, unless you're going to use it solely for photos.

Still, €116 is a decent price.

I've just bought the R300 from PC World - €149.

Admittedly I haven't used it much for document printing but I can't fault it.

Photo printing is second to none - excellent quality and the direct to CD printing is the dogs...

I have used it for printing quite a lot of text only stuff and have had no problems with it!! Mainly use it for photos (and dvd covers!!).

Have you used any compatible cartridges instead of EPSON originals and were they any use??

Check here - I think there's something about cartridges there.

Last time I checked its cheaper to get photos printed in a bureau than print them youself. Only when I was doing stuff at A4 size was it cheaper to do it myself.

another nod, great printer, amazing photos when you invest in good glossy paper, I got the R200 for €110 off SVP so this is great value - the 300 has inbuilt card reader
i use an old hp/€15 dell for documents so no comment on earlier post
