A set is when you have a pocket pair, and hit a third card of that rank on the flop, turn or river. Trips is when you hit two of one of your cards on the flop, turn or river, for example QJ on a QQA flop. They are too distinct as entities to use the terms interchangeably.

    whereas...

el bastardo is when u get out played

    and

el bastrado is when u keep someone in the game only for him to stick it to u right in the jacksy.

    Repeat after me... el ...bastradO....

Oh, i'm not bitter, i'm not bitter

I'll never soft play again, as god is my witness... never again

I'm sure you think it has deep comedic value Doc but would you give it a rest. Or at least keep it all in one place.

Just out of interest what's the punishment for misuse of the term Hector? And can I say a 'set of trips' if I want? Can I still 'flop trips' with my pocket pair if it's easier to say? Please sir.

If one is going to be that picky then one should try and spell one's 2 correctly.

Will you give the guy a break! He probably wrote that while playing 20 stt's at the same time. Let's see how your spelling is when doing that! ;)

The swedish for "Pedant" translates as "insect fncker". Because if you are going to fnck an insect you have to be very very accurate..... trivia for the day!

I have no idea what you are referring to.

    "If I had HAVE"

    not, "If I had OF"

My only complaint in an otherwise grammatically flawless poker blog.

seeing as we're talking about grammar

I had J5 in the BB and the flop came 7JJ.
I bet and got called, the turn came a 2, I bet he called, the river came a 3.
I bet and got called again. He had slow played AA.

Did I play my flopped set correctly do you think?
