So here it is, the most fun I've had playing poker so far:

£10 STT on betfair which is big for me as my league is at the £5 tables but funnily enough I think I'm starting to fare better at the £10 tables as the better standard of play brings a certain amount of order to the proceedings (e.g. not much calling 4xBB raises with 72o).

I'm shortstacked at the beginning until the middle when I hit a set of queens on the flop after my preflop raise with QJ from late position. Slowplay them and am delighted to see an Ace turn up on the river, I hit a big bet on this to make it look like I've got the Ace. Get called by AJo and then I sit pretty and use my tight image to clean up the blinds a few times and take some decent pots here and there.

Down to 4 and chip leader has 5 times my stack as I got short stacked after my set of jacks got cracked by a straight on the river - how that guy thought he had value to call I'll never know but I sorted him out soon after.

Chip leader was clearly settling for a money spot and so it was left to me to sort out the other fellas who had more chips than me....some very agressive play (I'd done the groundwork on the tight image so when I hit they thought I had good ammo) coupled with my new found ability to lay down a hand when I reckon I'm beat got rid of those lads but it took a good while as I had no help from the chip leader.

Down to us two and he now had twice my chips, by virtue of him never raising the blinds unless he had something serious I got the easiest read ever of him and hit him with raises at every oppurtunity and whittle away his chips until I had twice his stack.

Then I catch me some pocket bullets ("Well hello there lads yis havent been hanging round me much lately have yous and now you show up when I dont need yous, but ah well we'll have some fun")....so I hit him with my standard preflop raise up to 1200 (blinds 600 and I knew if I raised anymore hed fold but hed call this as it looked like some of my previous bluffs), I squeeze another grand out of him and show him the bullets.

But then, get this........I couldnt believe my eyes when I looked up to see I'd been dealt another pair of bullets in the very next hand - I mean what are the odds  ????????? Anyways, I slow play them, he hits a K on the flop and bets his measly 600, I push, he pushes and I show him the bullets with an apology and he goes baloobas....and I, after having so many bad beats online have my faith restored in the online system (though I never really subscribed to the conspiracy theories) and just sat here and laughed and took the piss out of the guys reaction in the chat box.

Just wanna say nice one for the advice I got here in previous threads - I've improved a good bit and am now up €200 since I started playing in January, and have used some of it to buy some books which should help. Don't wanna jinx it, but I posted a month ago about how to avoid trips and havent been hit by them since, and have had the opposition show me trips about 5 times when I've laid down top pair or two pair. I reckon my caution has cost me a few pots where they didnt have trips, but I think this approach has made me money overall. Still dont really know what to do with AK when the flop doesnt help it though.
