Just wondering if anyones come accross this before - when doing press-ups or tensing triceps, something like a nerve on the inside of the arm close to the elbow feels as though its being pressed, giving a funny almost pins n needles effect to the arm...?Like this for ages now. Is the muscle over developed?

Quite common to get referred pain/nerve trouble from the general back area, due to bad posture etc.
Laptop computers are a particular problem ....long periods with the neck bent forward...bad news

The lower back causes problems in the back of the leg usually (sciatica). The neck (cervical) area can cause problems right along the arm --- appearing to be like a muscle problem.

No its seems to be just the arm, like this for almost a year. Even when I tense it I get that almost funny bone feeling. cant workout! starting to look like a junkie!

I'd suggest a physio - that's quite bad. You need a serious medico to look at it!

I'd say she'll work on your neck though, sounds very like a 'referred' problem

ok i had a tennis elbow about 2 months ago say you are doing a bench press when u bring the weight down your elbow is fine but when u bring it back up you would get a hollow feeling in the elbow area?..

There's usually two main types of elbow problem:

    1. Tennis elbow - pain on the outside of the elbow near the elbow tip. Difficulty gripping, carrying etc, also problems moving the back of the hand upwards against resistance with the forearm locked (tennis backhand stroke)

    2. Golfer's elbow - pain on the inside of the elbow near the elbow tip with problems moving the front of the hand upwards against resistance with the forearm locked

I think you'll know pretty quick if you have either of these injuries - they're very common and not too tied to tennis or golf. An hour carrying a heavy shopping bag can do the trick.
