Arts and crafts shops for good ones, pound shops otherwise.

I meant that people could save me the bother of walking all around town looking for the right shop by telling me where to go!

I found a few in Read's today but they weren't very satisfactory - my preferred type would be one with a square-shaped lense and a light.

    Any ideas?

Dixon Hempenstall on Suffolk street might be able to help you out, but it depends on what you're willing to spend and what you need it for.

There's a guy in Dixon Hempenstall, Mr. O'Malley, he sells low vision aids, magnifiers, monoculars etc.

    Meh, hope that helps.

If you're in Dublin then Easons is a good bet.

You may also find some opticians have the square mountable reading ones.

I'll try Eason's in Cork as it's similar (it was closed by the time I got there today). One day, a magnificent magnifier will be mine!

Eason's in Cork is pretty poor tbh. Maybe Cork Arts and Crafts? Or Argos. I'll keep my eyes open tomorrow on my trip to town, might spot one.

Best person in the world (or at least Ireland) to help you.
An Optician is probably the best choice if you want one with a light etc etc.
