Fitness Bench - Any suggestions / reviews?

    Hi all,

I'm a pretty active bloke (25, slim build) and am thinking about getting a fitness bench and barbell to increase work on my upper body.
I play indoor soccer and tennis over the winter months, and am starting jogging again during the summer.
I already own a set of 15kg dumbells, but feel I need to add more exercises - looking for a bench to allow leg curl and barbell hooks.
I dont want to spend a lot - basically want to spend money on this instead of going to gym. Willing to spend around €100 on a bench, and then €50 to get good weights.

Anyone else out there have a fitness bench, and any suggestions on one.
Was looking at the York 6605 folding bench from Argos - anyone have it? It any good?

    cheers

yeah i had that one before it's ok for the basic stuff provided you have room . if you're serious about getting bigger though a gym would be better.

as for the leg curl/extension on the bench, it says they can only take 30kg/35kg i think so it might not actually be much use to you.

also the pads are foam so the steel parts dig into your legs while you're doing the exercise, leather pads or something would be better

    Thanks for the info tribulus.
I've got the room, and think it would be convienient for starting off - I'd agree that a gym would be best.
I'll probably join later in the year, but this would be a good starter.

Just bought it on sunday so havent gotten down to much yet
it actually folds up pretty damn well (have to remove two screws (wing nuts))
but its has a folded up footprint of about 1'x2'5'
as for the leg extensions, I was a bit worried about that, but I reckon I can just do one leg at a time....and Im sure it wont die if you upped it to 45 or so, after all your leg will be supporting it
