    Hey all,

    Australia A 28
    British & Irish Lions 25

Saw a frustrating but enjoyable game this morning, with the game being dominated by the Wallabies second stream side. It was definitely a weak Lions team put out, and they almost (undeservingly) robbed it at the end with a good last 6 minutes.

Unfortunately for O'Kelly, the only Irish player named to start today, his support in the form of fellow second row, and hooker, were very poor. At least we can be sure that Wood will be playing in the test, but O'Kelly will have a tough time maintaining his place. Hopefully he will get another opportunity to show his lineout skills, all the better with Wood, and in his normal position as no. 4 jumper.

After seeing a poor lions performance today, I can only hope that the selectors will have enough cop on to play most (if not all) of the Irish contigent in the first test. We'll see how the next couple of touring sides are handled.

I was surprised and delighted to see France play some of their best rugby since beating the All Blacks in the WC semi. They played magnificently against a strong Springbok team, and after going a try down after 17 seconds it was a good comeback to win that. Allez les bleus!

A good weekend of rugby! smile.gif

    Al.

O Kelly does not seem to be rated highly by the Lions selectors and upsets like this one will reflect badly on him. They really should have been able to beat Australia A. This maybe a good thing for the Lions all the same. They have been crusing through the first few tests and this game has hopefully brought them back down to earth.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the test and hoping the Lions can win the tour.

O'Kelly should be one of the first names on the first test side along with the other irish 5 players ,and to be honest i think it's a joke that the likes of stringer weren't named in the lions squad, because ,for me, he is the most improved 6 nations player by far over the past 2 years, although ,there is strenth in the lions no.9 jersey, i think it would be better if places were distributed more evenly, for example 2 scots!! they're better than that, would you agree townsend should of had a chance?
